Axis Capital carried out multiple transactions for listed Cinema Exhibition Players PVR and Inox in under 2 years.
- PVR Ltd. Raised INR 800 Cr through QIP, Largest QIP by any listed media / entertainment company till date and INR 300 Cr through a rights Issue.
- Inox Leisure raised INR 300 Cr via QIP which was executed with accelerated timelines end-to-end execution in 4 weeks from kick-off
All issues witnessed tremendous response against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic withn many screens shut due to lockdowns. Axis Capital also provided a fairness opinion to PVR Ltd. On the share exchange ratio for merger with Inox Leisure.
Axis Capital, as the sole lead manager, handheld the management through the entire rights issue, spearheading the regulatory processes to ensure smooth and efficient closure of the transaction, Issue was subscribed 2.24x – highest subscription for a Rights Issue in the last 15 years. Axis Capital delivered disproportionately higher share of the total book (~68% allocation in a 2-member syndicate), and successfully completed 2 transactions in a row for PVR Ltd. with the QIP.
Axis Capital successfully raised Rs. 14,000 million for Cinema Exhibitors during the pandemic period as cinema’s were forced shut with negligible revenue flowing in.
